Art on the run in MiamiRoll up to the mystery tour…
The macical art mystery tour is waiting to take you away…
Forgetting the credit crunch, recession and fears, under a great sun, our group of art lovers, leaded by our friends of Art Process, experienced the hectic week of Art Basel Miami and it's satellite fairs, (24 as a whole).
We also had the chance to visit extremely interesting private collections and artists' studios.
ART BASEL MIAMI BEACH
For its seventh edition this huge event welcomes more than 250 galleries, and 2000 artists from 20th and 21srt century.
Close to the convention Center, at the beachfront, Art Positions section presents 20 young galleries with projects by their up-and-coming artists in 20 shipping containers transformed into temporary gallery spaces. Part of their performance lies in their work on the very structure of these weird exhibition spaces.
This art fair was launched 3 years ago by Ambra Medda and Amy Lau and reached immediately a high level of interest. They managed "to create a nexus for the far-flung global community of cutting-edge design dealers, collectors, creative, curators, and critics". Success was there, VIP dying for being part of the preview and opening night and of exhibitors showing dazzling pieces of works. This fair brings together top design luminaries, celebrities, and taste-makers from around the globe.
